An Afternoon With Mr. Clark

Featuring The Chicagolite, PressVee & Lafreecaine

The Vision/The Team

A lady I admire once said that anything that appears grandiose and glamorous on the outside isn't 90% of the time fun. What is fun is the people whom you do it with/for. What's fun is the end result and knowing you, somehow, managed to make magic happen.

Well, it all started with an idea, a crazy one I would say knowing my friend Kori who writes one of Chicago's hottest blogs The Chicagolite aka the mastermind behind this event!
I met Kori last summer on a boat event (I mean!!! need I say more?) and we immediately clicked, so it was a no brainer when she reached out to me to help co-host her event: The Chicagolite Presents An Afternoon With Mr. Clark.
I must admit being back and forth between Milwaukee and Chicago with a full time job did not make things easy for me as far as giving my 110% but I was thrilled Kori wanted me to help her make her vision come to life and was determined to help out in any way I could, being that this would be the first ever event I co-host in Chicago.
Kori also reached out to the amazing Vicky Yang of PressVee (another "It" Chicago blogger and wardrobe stylist to add to your repertoire) and together we formed the ultimate team!
You know what they say "Behold the mighty force of great minds working together"

The Venue

As we all know, you can't have an event without a venue, and we are not talking about just any venue. Thanks to Kori, we were fortunate enough to hold our event at BANGTEL.
You are probably wondering what is BANGTEL? Right! Well let me spill the tea.
Bangtel is a unique rental agency that hosts properties that you can find on Airbnb in cities like Chicago, NY, and soon LA. It all started with Liz Klafeta, interior creator and founder of Bangtel.
Liz is a former wardrobe and prop stylist which explains her keen eye for interior design and attention to details. She and her team are changing Chicago's hospitality game one neighborhood at a time with locations in Lincoln Park, Humboldt Park, Lakeview, West Town, Wrigleyville & Boystown. Wether you are looking for a brief or long stay while in Chicago, Bangtel got you covered!
For our housewarming experience, we used Mr Clark's Penthouse located in Lincoln Park. The big two bedroom penthouse is super cozy and chic, as you walk in some abstract artwork cover the crisp white walls and the place is filled with one-of-a-kind pieces with one definitely being the hanging bed #Banger (see pics below). And to save the best for last, anything you see and like is also available for purchase.
Now If you ask me, Bangtel is the perfect staycation in style!

The Afternoon

As 3pm arrived, guests slowly started to fill out the space made even more gorgeous with different vases of fresh white tulips arrangements courtesy of Debi Lilly A Perfect Event.
They were greeted and promptly given the program of the event to encourage social media participation as one of the lucky guest were to win a free one night stay at the penthouse. Then a mini tour of the two bedroom space quickly followed.
Just like any casual housewarming, we wanted our lovely guests to feel at home, and make their experience unforgettably pleasurable. With music playing in the background through Gramovox speaker known for its vintage design and modern sound, guests were slowly vibing to some cool tunes while mingling and responsibly sipping on some bubbly or a special cocktail recipe from one of our sponsor Don Julio: The Paloma made by yours truly as I was tending the bar. And since you should not be drinking on an empty stomach Whole Foods Market had us covered with a bunch of light and healthy bites, as if it was not enough Nothing Bundt Cakes satisfied all of our dessert cravings with the tastiest cupcakes. And just in case as you were indulging in all of those delights and you might have just happen to slightly mess up your perfect pout, celebrity makeup artist Paula Heckenast of City Lights Makeup Artistry was there to do some touch ups. Throughout the afternoon, as true bloggers fashion, you could catch the guests snapping some selfies, making new friends or playing on a set of games provided by Wild and Wolf, ranging from chess to poker sets.
And did I mention that our guests stayed hydrated by drinking a greener option of water?
Yep! Green Sheep Water it is! Not only it is made in the USA but Green Sheep Water is bottled in aluminum instead of plastic [oh so chic & conscious]  ( FUN FACT: Aluminum is 2x more recyclable than plastic)
